HOUSTON -- The tornado watch for southeast Texas has been canceled.

Some areas in the northwestern counties of Waller and Walker got several inches of rain per hour when the line of storms was at its worst.

A funnel cloud was reported in New Waverly, which is in Walker County. A few snapped trees were reported, and one uprooted tree fell onto Daryl Hardgrave's mobile home.

“My wife had stepped into the back bedroom, and at that moment we heard some strong winds and we heard a crash,” Hardgrave said. “My wife let out a real horrible scream, and I ran down the hallway. I ran to help her.

"We’re just thankful there was no damage to her physically,” he said.

Hardgrave and his wife were able to get out of the home unhurt.

Phone lines in the area are down. Crews are working to restore that service.

Residents, meanwhile, are continuing to clean up the debris.

More rain set for Thursday

You could slice the air with a knife in Harris County, but there's only a 40 percent chance of scattered showers Wednesday.

"We have scattered showers across southeast Texas, but none of it, at the moment, is severe," 11 News meteorologist David Paul said.

There's another threat for severe weather is Thursday. Heavy rain will soak most of the viewing area, and it could come in two rounds: morning and afternoon. A cold front will accompany the rain.
