KHOU 11's Shern-Min Chow reports

HOUSTON - Houston Police confirm a man was seriously injured in an incident involving a train Thursday morning.

It happened at 9:40 a.m. in the 5800 block of Lyons.

Police were called to the scene, and paramedics took the man to Ben Taub General Hospital.

A spokesman for Union Pacific says the pedestrian was trespassing on the tracks when he was struck. He suffered "significant injuries" the company says.

Views from Air 11 showed investigators looking over the train, which was stopped and blocking a nearby crossing as of 10:35 a.m.
