HOUSTON - The debate over a controversial textbook continues.
On Monday, members of the American GI Forum held a news conference rejecting the book and urging the state Board of Education to reject the book on Mexican American heritage.
The book has been blasted by several groups, saying it paints Mexican Americans in a bad light and will have a multi-generational negative impact.
"This is not only an outcry, but an outrage for our community," said one of the members.
The Board of Education will vote on the book in a few weeks, along with all other proposed texts.
