Kindergartner left at wrong bus stop twice

SPRING, Texas -- It's been a rough first week of school for Andrew Winton. The Ford Elementary School kindergartner was dropped off in the wrong spot by a school bus not once, but twice.

Andrew's first day at school went smoothly until the time he took his first bus ride home.

The bus driver mistakenly let him get out at an apartment complex about half a mile away from the daycare where he was supposed to be dropped off.

His mother says a stranger helped get him home.

"A lady found him crying," said Amy Winton. "She stopped, picked him up, took him to the apartment office, found the paperwork in his backpack that has all our information and called and said, 'I have your son'."

The Wintons complained to Conroe ISD and figured the problem was solved.

Then the next day, Andrew was dropped off again at the same wrong location. This time, the Winton's say he tried to argue with the driver.

"She told him to get off the bus," said Amy Winton. "This was his stop."

Conroe ISD says it is aware of the incident and will have the driver removed from the route and re-trained. A district spokeswoman says Andrew followed a group of kids off the bus.

His mother says that's no excuse.

"She needs to be fired," she said. "I do not believe she should be allowed to drive busses."
