Injured worker rescued from roof of building near Uptown

HOUSTON -- Houston firefighters responded to reports of a wounded man on the roof of a building west of Uptown early Monday.

It was reported along Fountain View at Inwood before 9 a.m.

According to the Houston Fire Department, the construction worker was using a saw when the blade became dislodged and struck him in the chest.

Views from Air 11 showed firefighters loading him onto a rescue stretcher hanging from the end of a ladder truck. The man was placed in an ambulance and taken to the hospital in serious condition.
