HOUSTON - A 7-year-old boy was struck and killed by a car while he was riding a skateboard through an apartment complex parking lot Tuesday evening.
According to the Houston Police Department, the incident happened at the Waverly apartments located in the 2300 block of Hayes Road.
Investigators said the boy was riding his skateboard through the parking lot by laying down in the prone position when a woman in a vehicle struck him.
The boy was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.
The driver stayed at the scene. Police said there were also three to four children in the vehicle at the time of the accident.
Police said the incident appears to just be an accident and that there were no signs of intoxication from the female driver.
