Houston rapper John Edward Hawkins' murder is still unsolved.

John Edward “Hawk” Hawkins was murdered in May of 2006.

Police say he was planning to meet a friend at a home in the 12100 block of Redfern in southeast Houston.

When Hawkins arrived, someone shot him multiple times and took off.

“I know someone knows something on that street. Someone had to be on that street that night listening, hearing voices, maybe seeing anything whatsoever that sticks out in their head,” Meshah Hawkins said.

The only clue investigators have is that someone noticed a small, white compact car with tinted windows shortly after the shooting. But there’s no evidence that the car is connected to the crime.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
