HOUSTON -- An SUV slammed into the back of a logging truck parked on the side of FM 1960 in northeast Harris County Friday morning.
The female driver of the SUV was injured when one of the logs crashed through the front windshield and knocked out the back windshield.
The woman was rushed by Life Flight helicopter to Memorial Hermann Hospital, where she was listed in stable condition.
Officials said the woman broke her arm.
“It was really shocking. It was real upsetting, because I was wondering if she was going to live or what. It was a real bad situation,” log truck driver Willie Harrell said.
The accident happened around 9:30 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of FM 1960 near the Foxwood Forest intersection.
Witnesses said the woman had driven around a buildup of traffic at the intersection when she hit the truck.

The log crashed through the SUV's front windshield and knocked out the back windshield.
Traffic was backed up as drivers slowed down to stare at the bizarre sight.
Harris County Sheriff's deputies and Northeast Fire and Rescue responded to the scene.
Deputies said there was no indication that alcohol was involved and it was not illegal for the truck to be parked on the shoulder.
