KHOU.com staff report

HOUSTON -- The city is now home to a brand new cathedral.

The Co-Cathedral of the Sacred Heart will be dedicated Wednesday.

Nestled downtown, the magnificent and spiritual site will be an inspiration to the faithful and booming Catholic community.

It's taken 10 years of planning, three years of building and several trips across the Atlantic Ocean to create it. The building will seat 2,000 parishoners.

The dedication Mass on Wednesday is not open to the public.
