Gas leak forces closure of Main Street

A portion of a main traffic artery through the Texas Medical Center is shutdown as crews work to plug a natural gas leak. Main Street between Sunset and University is closed in both directions because of the gas leak.

Main Street between Sunset and University is closed in the Texas Medical Center.
CenterPoint/Entex officials said the road closure was needed so that crews could reroute the natural gas flow as to not disrupt service to nearby hospitals.
Officials with Methodist Hospital said construction crews accidentally punched through the gas line about noon Thursday.
