Deputy pinned under collapsed stairwell

A Harris County deputy was trapped underneath a collapsed stairwell early Friday morning.
A car chase had ended with the suspect driving into the Haverstock Hill Aparments on Aldine Bender. Parts of the stairwell were unstable after the vehicle was pulled out.
The deputy was picking up some items near the stairwell around 9 a.m. when it fell on top of his left side. Several people lifted the stairs up and pulled him out.
His left foot is broken, and he was complaining of back pains. He was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital.
The suspect from the chase is in custody.
