Investigators said the robbery of a northeast Harris County convenience store may have been a family affair.

Officials said this suspect was found hiding in the attic of a house.

Two siblings were among five suspects arrested Tuesday morning after a manhunt.

After more than 20 years of living in the neighborhood, there hasn’t been much that has gotten by Joseph Jolivette, including the conduct of the neighbors who lived in a house just down the street.

“Since they moved in a little over a month ago the first week there was a fight,” Jolivette said.

Tuesday morning authorities surrounded a home looking for five men suspected of robbing a Valero convenience store a few miles away.

Investigators said a clerk was working when the suspects arrived at about 5 a.m. Tuesday.

A manhunt began soon after the store was hit.

After a brief police chase, all of the suspects bailed out of a pickup truck, which had been reported stolen.

“They crashed out around the corner from this location.  Canine units responded and tracked the suspects to this house,” said Bryan Pair, Harris County Sheriff’s Office, robbery division.

Deputies found all the suspects in the home, including three that hid in the attic, one in a closet and another inside a bedroom.

Investigators also recovered five handguns and three shotguns.

Some of the suspects lived in the house and two of them are siblings.  Neighbors told 11 News they hope this brings the violence and fighting to a stop.

“This had been a quiet neighborhood for 23 years that I’ve been,” said Jolivette.  “We’ve never had nothing like that in this neighborhood.”

“I thought it would taper off and whatever action was needed by the police department would answer the call and they did,” said David High, resident.

Harris County Sheriff’s Office said they are investigating reports that the five may have been responsible for three other robberies overnight.

The district attorney has charged all five suspects with aggravated robbery.
