03:14 PM CDT on Wednesday, April 12, 2006
Four employees at the Harris County jail have been temporarily reassigned after two incidents involving what the sheriff's department calls "use of force." AP Harris County officials say there were two incidents against two inmates in adjacent cells at the 1200 Baker Street jail. Both inmates sustained injuries during the incident and were taken to the clinic, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office. Harris County officials said there were inconsistencies in accounts given by different staff members involved in the incident. The Internal Affairs Division is investigating. In the meantime two staff members, one sergeant and one detention officer have been reassigned pending the outcome of the investigation.
