Public Works employee rescued from hole after injuring ankle

A City of Houston Public Works employee had an unfortunate accident during a routine inspection at a sewer lift station in southeast Houston Wednesday. KHOU-TV The worker was pulled from the hole at 11:32 a.m. Wednesday. The man had made his way down to the lower level when he somehow twisted his ankle. He was unable to get out and called for help. Rescue workers with the Houston Fire Department responded to the scene at Findlay and Detroit. Close to a dozen workers lifted the man from the hole at 11:32 a.m. He was taken by ambulance to an area hospital and was reportedly in good condition.
