HOUSTON –- Spotty showers were spotted along the coast early Monday, said KHOU 11 News Meteorologist Chita Johnson.

There’s only a 20-percent chance for isolated showers throughout the day, so don’t expect to get any significant rainfall.

Monday’s forecast high is 96 degrees under mostly sunny skies.

“We’re now past our official first weekend of summer,” said Johnson. “The temperatures are just going to ramp up from here.”

Later this week the chance for isolated showers continues, but by the weekend our temperatures will be even hotter as we near 100 degrees.
