HOUSTON - Nearly 3,000 HISD students could be without a permanent school for at least another two years.
The district is trying to decide how to replace campuses that were damaged during Hurricane Harvey.
The Board of Trustees are set to vote on the future of Braeburn, Kolter, Mitchell and Scarborough Elementary schools. The proposal is to demolish the buildings and rebuild them in the same spot. However, the properties would be elevated to prevent future flooding.
The vote is scheduled for Thursday.
