HOUSTON – Firefighters responded to a fire at the old Furr High School building in east Houston overnight.

Around midnight Sunday the Houston Fire Department arrived at Mercury and Lafferty Oaks where they found large flames coming from a wall of the building, which was in the process of being torn down.

Firefighters quickly put out the fire, and no injuries were reported, although it took more than an hour to put out all the hot spots.

Arson investigators are looking into the cause of the fire.
