Harris County deputy injured while directing traffic

HOUSTON – A Harris County deputy was hit by a car while directing traffic near St. Michael Catholic Church.

The deputy sustained a minor ankle injury and was taken to Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital.

The incident occurred around 3 p.m. in the 2000 block of Sage Road near Del Monte Drive, just south of San Felipe. St. Michaels said the deputy was working traffic control for the church when he was struck.
