Harris Co. Pct. 3 chief deputy fired after harassment allegations

Officials with Harris County Precinct 3 say their Chief Deputy has been fired after female employees came forward with harassment allegations against him.

HOUSTON - Harris County Precinct 3 has fired its chief deputy after female employees came forward with allegations of harassment against him.

Milton Rivera was terminated of his position Nov. 17 after three female employees accused him of harassment. Officials say two of those three employees claim Rivera sexually harassed them.

According to deputies, on Nov. 9, Constable Sherman Eagleton learned Rivera lied to him about another employee’s allegations against him. Rivera was placed on administrative leave during an investigation conducted by Harris County Human Resources and the Harris County Attorney’s Office.

Deputies say human resources uncovered facts concerning the allegations to warrant Rivera’s termination. Constable Eagleton fired Rivera Nov. 17 as a result.

Though Rivera has been fired, deputies say the investigation is still ongoing at this time.
