UTMB job fair helps laid off workers

GALVESTON – A two-day long job fair will be held next Monday and Tuesday at the Galveston Island Convention Center for nurses and other healthcare professionals.
The fair comes at a much needed time after many lost their jobs due to financial problems caused by Hurricane Ike.
Monday’s fair will be for nurses and allied health professionals. Tuesday's fair will be open to all other occupations.
In addition to helping out with jobs, donated items, including scrubs, will also be available on a first come, first serve basis.
The job fair will be held between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on both days.
