A sign marks the spot for Galveston residents with special parking needs
08:53 AM CDT on Wednesday, August 27, 2008
The City of Galveston has taken steps to make parking easier for residents with special needs.
Eligible drivers can now request that part of the road in front of their homes be designated a handicapped parking space.
The city will even put up a sign to mark the space.
All applicants need to do is apply and pay a $50 fee.
The sign, city officials say, can be removed at any time.
