Dallas man drowns in League City

LEAGUE CITY, Texas -- A Dallas man drowned in League City Friday night.
Police were called to the South Shore Harbor Marina in reference to a missing adult male around 10 p.m.
Once they arrived, a League City Marine Patrol Division, as well as the Coast Guard and the Clear Lake Emergency Medical Corps dive team, began searching for the man.
Witnesses told them the man may have fallen from a pier.
A short time later, the Clear Lake dive team recovered the man’s body from the water.
He was identified as Lawrence D. Godfrey, 29.
The League City Police Department and the Galveston County Medical Examiner’s Office are investigating.
