There are six dealers in what people call the Rose Rich Auto mile.
Two of the dealerships opened in the past couple of years and the others are remodeling, expanding parking lots and adding new brands of cars.
Chris Gilman says that while car sales across the country are down, but his store is bucking the trend.
“This Honda store a couple of years ago use to do an average of 50 to 75 new units. Now we do somewhere in the range of 120 to 150 a month,” he said.
Experts say that the population in the Rosenberg area has surged 40 percent in the past seven years and car dealers are cashing in.
Some customers are even driving in from out of town to get their cars in Rosenberg.
Ramona Trammel is one of those shoppers.
“When I was researching, I found a better price on the internet from the fleet deal,” she said.
Other businesses are also winning say experts.
In fact, just about everywhere you look you can see restaurants, hospitals and other businesses being built.
Yes ago, there was nothing but farmland where outdoor shopping centers now stand.
Area residents say they had to drive miles to get to their favorite stores.
“We use to have to go all the way to Houston to go to different stores,” said Rosenberg native Paula Thomas.
“Now we have a little mall here,” she said.
The Rosenberg Richmond Chamber of Commerce says a major motorcycle company is currently talking about building a huge store and entertainment center there as well.
