FORT BEND COUNTY -- A yearlong ID theft investigation in Fort Bend County resulted in indictments against 38 people on felony charges ranging from first degree felony theft to money laundering.

Wesley Thomas Dixon, Barbara Maria Guinn and Sequietta Combs Grevious were among the dozens indicted in the ID theft investigation.
The investigation centered on hundreds of fraudulent short-term loans, commonly known as “payday loans.”
The loans, issued between December 2006 and February 2008, were made via the Internet and direct deposited into bank accounts opened around the Houston Metro area, according to detectives. They said the accounts were set up to launder proceeds from the thefts.
Investigators said a pattern in the fraudulent loan applications led them to a home in northwest Harris County.
In February, law enforcement officers from several agencies arrested Wesley Thomas Dixon for fraudulent use and possession of identifying information.
Barbara Maria Guinn and Sequietta Combs Grevious were arrested later in connection with the scheme.
Both women are accused of recruiting individuals to help launder the proceeds of the fraudulent loans and providing material support to Dixon.
Guinn, Grevious and Dixon are in custody awaiting trial.
It's alleged that Dixon used identities of more than 500 people to apply for more than 1,000 loans valued between $200 and $800 each. The total theft is believed to be in excess of $230,000.
The investigation also revealed that Tracy Spencer-Gilmore and Chante Monique Small stole client’s personal information from their employers and provided that data to Dixon.
Spencer-Gilmore worked for Kelsey-Seybold Clinic and Small was employed by HCA-Clear Lake Regional Medical Center at the time.
Detectives say that the following individuals were indicted for money laundering for their part in receiving proceeds from the fraudulent loans: Aneka Armstrong; Chace Barrett (arrested); Javonica Braud; Connie Broussard; Stephen Carter; Roxanne Celestine; Casandra Clark; Rockell Clark; Tony Clark; Maude Coleman; Alton Faniel; Latoya Faniel; Tadrick Goodman (arrested); Fannie Grevious; Angela Handy; Clotilde Hernandez; Latoya Hodge; Tina Johnson; Joshua Lamb; Dennis Lott; Alfred Neal; Joshua Newsome; Naterica Nixon; Michelle Perkins; Danny Reagins; Kent Smith Jr.; Shelisa Sneed; Kaleem Stephens; Brian Telfor; Corey White; Marcellus Wilkins; Brian Williams; and Quintina Williams.
Agencies from across the state helped Fort Bend County Sheriff’s detectives in this massive effort. They included investiagtors from the Austin County Sheriff’s Office, Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office, Harris County Sheriff’s Office and the Houston Police Department.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the above wanted fugitives is asked to contact the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office at (281) 341-4665 or Fort Bend County Crime Stoppers at (281) 342-TIPS (8477).
