HOUSTON - The Houston Independent School District Board of Education voted Thursday to settle a long-standing lawsuit with a former principal.
Former Kashmere High School principal Mable Caleb file the lawsuit after she was terminated in 2010. She was awarded $550,000 in the settlement.
According to the Houston Chronicle, Caleb was terminated following an investigative report alleging cheating on state exams took place a Key Middle School where Caleb was the principal in 2009. An administrative law judge ruled Caleb was not responsible for the cheating allegations.
Trustees say they agreed to the settlement Thursday “in order to bring final resolution to the matter and move forward.”
