KHOU 11's Lauren Talarico reports

HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS - A large fire destroyed a shopping center, damaging a restaurant, tattoo parlor and a beauty salon in northeast Harris County early Thursday.

Firefighters were on the scene before 5 a.m. in the 4100 block of Hopper Road just west of the Eastex Freeway.

Huge flames were seen shooting from the building that houses multiple businesses.

The affected restaurant is family owned and had been around for about 15 years.
“It was a community restaurant," said Melissa Ivanic of the La Coqueta Restaurant. "We were well-loved. I mean this place was packed every Sunday.”

There were no reports of injuries.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
