Parents to ask for stiffer punishment for Nazi graffiti cheerleaders
06:08 PM CDT on Monday, May 5, 2008
DICKINSON, Texas—Parents upset over the punishment given to two Dickinson High cheerleaders who drew swastikas on school property were expected to speak out at the school board meeting Monday night.
Officials say the girls used permanent markers to draw swastikas on school walls, books and an American flag.
The students served a three-day in-school suspension, cleaned up the graffiti and wrote a term paper on why swastikas are offensive as punishment.
They were not kicked off the cheerleading squad.
The parents will reportedly ask the school for a stiffer punishment for the girls.
The Anti-Defamation League is also trying to set up a meeting with the school.
