Remembering a former TSU president

Texas Southern University will hold a memorial service on Friday for one of it’s former presidents.

Leonard Spearman, Sr.
Leonard Spearman Senior was TSU’s president from 1980 to 1986.
Spearman passed away last week.
After his reign, President Reagan appointed him as U.S. ambassador to Rwanda.
Spearman served in the same position in the Kingdom of Lesotho.
TSU says Spearman was instrumental in getting accreditation for the schools of law and pharmacy.
The memorial service will be held at TSU’s Paige Education Building.
It begins at 11 Friday morning.
