New leads help police in search for sex assault suspect in The Woodlands

New leads from local tipsters are helping police in the search for a man accused of sexually assaulting women in an apartment complex in The Woodlands.

THE WOODLANDS, Texas - A wanted sexual assault suspect has been linked to a fourth case from 2013.

The latest assault was reported around 3:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at the Trailpoints apartment complex in the 2300 block of South Millbend.

Officials say a 32-year-old woman woke up and saw a man standing near the foot of her bed with his pants partially removed. They say the woman screamed and chased the man out of her apartment.

Authorities say based on this incident and evidence from previous assaults, it is possible all four incidents are related.

Two of the other incidents occurred on Sept. 16, 2016 and Oct. 13, 2016. They say during each incident, the suspect entered apartments through unlocked doors or windows in the early morning hours.

Police say in those incidents, the suspect tied up the victims by their bed sheets and sexually assaulted them.

Deputies released new information on Friday, saying DNA evidence recovered from the most recent attack provided a link to the assault that happened in 2013.

The specific details of the 2013 attack are being withheld to protect the victim in that case, but deputies say it happened off of highway 242 in Conroe.

The location of that assault is about 10 miles from the Trailpoint apartment complex.

Officials describe the suspect as a Hispanic male in his mid-20s to early 30s, approximately 5-foot-7 with a thin build, brown hair and brown eyes.

They say the suspect has an accent and was wearing dark clothing.

Deputies said all of the victims are white women in their 30s.

Anyone with information is urged to call the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office at (936)-760-5876 or Montgomery County Crime Stoppers at (800)-392-STOP (7867).
