01:58 PM CDT on Tuesday, October 30, 2007
Two reported burglary suspects are jailed in Fort Bend County.
FBCSO
Rolando Salaiz, 23, and Cody Thomas Deleon, 21
The men were picked up Monday afternoon after deputies responded to a burglary call in the 1000 bloock of Evergreen Road in Fresno.
The ordeal began, police reports indicate, after an eye witness came to the home of a friend.
The visitor told authorities that he noticed an unfamiliar blue pick up truck parked in the driveway.
He called for help after he walked into the home and then saw two men running away.
One of the men reportedly jumped over a fence. The second suspect tried to get away in the blue pick up.
The suspect in the truck, Rolando Salaiz, 23, sped off only to crash into a ditch and then flee on foot.
Both men were later spotted at a Texaco convenience store on F.M. 521 and Palmetto.
Salaiz was taken into custody.
Cody Thomas Deleon, 21, ran away.
He was arrested later.
It was then learned Deleon also had an outstanding warrant out of Harris County Sheriff’s Office for Burglary of a Habitation and Salaiz has been handled for Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle.
Anyone with information on this case should call Fort Bend County Crime Stoppers at (281) 342-TIPS (8477).
