03:53 PM CDT on Tuesday, May 9, 2006
Some Rosenberg teens' choice of clothing might have led to the arrest of an area graffiti suspect. Rosenberg Police Department Leon Dagoberto, Jr. Leon Dagoberto, Jr., 18, was arrested Monday night and charged with defacing public and private buildings with graffiti. School Resource Officer Jeff Johnson observed two Foster High School students wearing T-shirts with a similar graffiti design stenciled on the front of the shirt. That same design had been found on several public and private buildings throughout the city of Rosenberg. A follow-up investigation confirmed the identification of the suspect. Police believe Dagoberto, Jr. is responsible for 20 of the 25 cases of graffiti reported to the Rosenberg Police Department since March. The graffiti consisted of several distinctive symbols such as a gas mask, self portrait, a griffin -- which stands for the body of a lion and head of an eagle -- and the numbers and letters R370X, which represented his signature. The suspect was transported to the Fort Bend County Jail where his bond was set at $20,000.
