BRAZORIA COUNTY, Texas—Four people are facing federal charges in the death of a 25-year-old Honduran man whose body was found by a mowing crew in Brazoria County.
The body, identified as that of Edy Joel Jimenez-Ulloa , was found on April 27 on County Road 56, east of FM 521, in Rosharon.
Investigators said the body was partially concealed in plastic bags and appeared to have been recently placed at that location.
After a two-week joint investigation by the Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office and ICE officials, three people were arrested and charged with Criminal Conspiracy to Smuggle Aliens with an enhancement due to Jimenez-Uloa’s death.
A fourth person who has not yet been arrested was also charged.
Investigators said the accused were smuggling illegal immigrants into the U.S. via Mexico.
While at a stash house in Houston, Jimenez-Ulloa died, and his body was discarded.
The cause of death is still undetermined, but swine flu has been ruled out.
