BRAZORIA COUNTY
Watch out for repeat storms this afternoon
12:55 PM CDT on Wednesday, June 18, 2008
HOUSTON -- Wednesday has the potential to get wet and wild again.
"I expect it to be a repeat of Tuesday, with possible thunderstorm in the late afternoon and early evening," 11 News meteorologist David Paul said.
Wharton and Jackson counties, in particular, need more rain. While Wharton County is only 2 inches behind on rain totals for the year, they only had .22 inches of rain for the month of May. A normal May rain total is closer to 4.6 inches for them.
"The farther south you go, the worse the rain totals are," Paul said. Galveston County is behind by about 8 inches, but Bush Intercontinental Airport is only behind 3.9 inches.
There's a 40 percent chance of rain at rush hour Wednesday, but those chances drop to 20 percent Thursday.
Additionally, Houston, Galveston and Brazoria counties are under an ozone watch.
