ROSHARON, Texas—Police say a Brazoria County teen shot his stepfather to death after he walked in on him choking his mother Saturday night.

Deputies were called to the scene in the 13900 block of Garden Brook in Rosharon around 7:15 p.m.

When they arrived, they found Treyvon Williams, 38, lying dead in the garage with a gunshot wound to the back.

They later learned that Williams was shot by his common law wife’s 18-year-old son. 

Pashette Thornton and Williams were reportedly engaged in a violent argument in the garage when the teen fired two shots.

The teen was taken into custody by deputies.  He was released after being interviewed by investigators.

Officials say the case will be referred to a Brazoria County grand jury with no charges.
