Brazoria officials make $500,000 drug bust

The Brazoria County Sheriff's Office seized 55 pounds of cocaine April 13 from a house.
It was located in the 1000 block of Kensington in the South Down subdivision.
Officials said they got information about heavy traffic there that only stayed in place for a short period of time.
The Narcotics Task Force on April started surveillance Friday night around 8:30, and then they got a search warrant.
The task force requested the assistance of the Pearland Police Department S.W.A.T. to serve the search warrant.
The marijuana has a street value of about $500,000.
Three people were arrested, and $70,000 in cash was seized.
Arrested for possession of controlled substance a first degree felony was 35-year-old Saydy Flores and 42-year-old Siria Garcia, and if found guilty they face imprisonment from 5 to 99 years and a fine up to $10,000.
Also arrested was 44-year-old Lynford Minott. He was charged with possession of marijuana, a class B misdemeanor, which carries a punishment of up to six months in jail and a fine up to $2,000.
Bond on the females is set at $150,000 each and on Minott was $3,500. Minott has posted bond, the females are currently being held at the Brazoria County Detention Center.
