BRYAN, Texas -- Teeny, tiny pests are causing big problems for some apartment tenants in Bryan.

A bed bug infestation there is causing the managers of a complex to order everyone out.

The tenants have until Dec. 3 to find a new place to live, but some say that’s not enough time.

The apartment managers bought the complex about a month ago.

They said they’re just trying to deal with a problem they inherited.

Bed bugs are also an issue here in Houston. Earlier this year, three men went to the hospital after they were bit by the bugs at Harmony House.

That’s a men’s shelter downtown.

Doctors said they were seeing more cases of bed bug bites at the time, and exterminators said they were getting called out to more local homes because of the pests.

The good thing is, bed bugs aren’t known to carry any infectious diseases.
