Crash on Memorial Drive
HOUSTON -– The driver of a high-end sports car was listed in stable condition at the hospital after he lost control and destroyed the vehicle in a crash on Memorial Drive, police said.
Houston police said the crash happened around 3 a.m. Friday near Detering Street.
The driver apparently slid sideways in his 2012 Audi R8, hitting a tree at a curve in the road. The car was nearly split in two.
The driver was sent to the hospital in stable condition. No other injuries were reported.
The Audi R8 has a retail price tag ranging from $115,000 to $200,000, depending on the trim level and engine size.
