Pooches to take over parking lot at benefit for local animal non-profit

HOUSTON - A benefit that will be held at a local restaurant will welcome humans and animals alike.

The Perro de Mayo event will benefit Barrio Dogs, a Houston-based animal welfare organization. Guests will enjoy live music by Los Skarnales, Grupo Fantasma, Joe “King” Carrasco and Zenteno Spirit.

It will be held at Fitzgerald's on Saturday, May 6, 2017. Things are set to kick off at 3 p.m.

“We invite you to come out to enjoy the music and support Barrio Dogs. It will be an amazing musical line-up and will help the great work of Barrio Dogs continue in our city,” says Sara Fitzgerald, owner of Fitzgerald’s.

The non profit organization says its mission is to educate, empower and transform the Houston East End community with information about proper pet care and treatment.

Fitzgerald's is located at 2706 White Oak Drive in the Heights.
