Brides, as a general rule, don't want to be upstaged at their wedding.
But Pennsylvania bride Sarah Mallouk Crain must have known that would happen when she chose wriggly puppies over flowery bouquets for the bridal party.
Oh, the cuteness!
Crain is a board member of rescue organization Pitties Love Peace. She and her new husband, Matt Crain, are animal lovers who have three rescue dogs, according to the Dodo. So it seemed natural to have six homeless puppies in their wedding party.
Crain said she hopes her wedding shoot encourages more adoptions from shelters nationwide.
Photographer Caroline Logan enjoyed the challenge of shooting people with pups.
"Having the puppies involved in the wedding brought so much additional joy to Matt and Sarah's day," Logan told The Dodo.
The bride posed with a pit bull mix named Biggie Smalls.
Her bridesmaids cuddled coonhound-boxer mixes named after past first ladies: Martha, Abigail, Dolley, Elizabeth and Louisa. They were rescued when they were newborns and are now being fostered while they wait for forever homes.
"The puppies of course caused the photos to be extra natural, candid, and carefree — exactly what I strive for in my work," Logan told The Dodo. "The wedding party was loving all the puppy snuggles."
Logan said there were no doggie accidents, no drama and everything went off without a hitch.
