Bindi Irwin tributes dad, 'The Crocodile Hunter' on 10-year anniversary of death

A decade after the sudden and tragic death of 'The Crocodile Hunter' Steve Irwin, his daughter Bindi is paying tribute to her father of Twitter.

On Sept. 4, 2006, the Australian wildlife expert and conservationist was filming an underwater documentary on stingrays when one of the creatures pierced him with its barb multiple times in the chest, killing him. Irwin was 44.

Bindi was just eight years old at the time; her younger brother Bob was not even three.

Ten years later, his daughter Bindi tweeted a photo of her father and her as a baby with the message "You'll be my hero for my entire existence. I love you more than words can describe."

So far, the heartfelt message has been shared more than 18,000 times and liked 48,000 times.

Bindi continues to follow in her father's footsteps as a conservationist and TV personality.

Last November, the teen traded the outback for the dance floor when she competed, and won, on ABC's 'Dancing With the Stars' with partner Derek Hough.
