Chase suspect ditches SUV to try and evade Houston police

It was reported around 12:45 a.m. when an officer with the Houston Police Department tried to stop an older Dodge Durango for traffic violations on Airline Drive at Little York Road.

HOUSTON –- Police said a man was taken into custody early Friday morning following a chase on Houston’s northside.

It was reported around 12:45 a.m. when an officer with the Houston Police Department tried to stop an older Dodge Durango for traffic violations on Airline Drive at Little York Road. Police said the driver refused to pull over.

The suspect eventually pulled into an apartment complex on Northline Drive and tried to run away on foot. Officers quickly caught him.

The SUV he was driving was reported stolen out of Harris County, according to police.

The driver now faces charges of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and felony evading.
