HOUSTON – Police are searching for the person who is responsible for vandalizing a public art project in the Heights this past weekend.
Volunteers had installed colorful panels made of yarn in a metal frame near a running trail in the 1600 block of Heights Boulevard.
"Yarn bombing" is a popular form of art usually done in the dark of night.
Witnesses reported seeing a woman ripping down the squares around 6 p.m. on Saturday.
Investigators estimate that approximately $10,000 in damage was caused by the unidentified vandal.
