HOUSTON – Houston police said a wrong-way driver in a Cadillac somehow ended up on top of a Katy Freeway retaining wall early Friday morning.

Houston TranStar reported the incident shortly after 6 a.m. just inside the 610 Loop.

The driver apparently gained access to the freeway by driving down an embankment from an adjacent road.

Officers said the driver then traveled westbound on the eastbound side of the freeway when two of his car's wheels came off the embankment's wall, bringing his car to a stop. No injuries were reported.

Police said they looked the driver over, and alcohol was not a factor in the incident.

Two tow trucks were brought in to remove the car off the wall.
