HOUSTON—Houston police are investigating after a woman’s charred body was discovered Friday behind a laundromat in northeast Houston.
Police received a 911 reporting a fire burning in the 1300 block of Lorraine Street around 6:40 a.m.
Houston firefighters initially thought it was just a pile of rubbish on fire. When they put out the blaze, they discovered the woman’s remains.
Arson investigators and K-9 units were then called out.
The woman’s identity was not known.
Police said it appears that she was killed somewhere else, then brought to that location and set afire.
