BAYTOWN, Texas – Baytown police were investigating what appeared to be an auto-pedestrian accident in a parking lot early Wednesday morning.
The incident occurred around 2:30 a.m. on W. Baker Road at Garth Road, according to the Baytown Police Department.
Investigators said the woman was found lying in the parking lot of a shopping center and was sent to the hospital by Life Flight. Although she was seriously injured, she was able to tell police she was hit by a car.
The driver fled the scene before police arrived.
A knife was found on the ground near the woman, but police weren’t sure if it was tied to the incident.
An investigation is ongoing.
