HOUSTON – A woman who survived a rollover crash on Highway 290 was struck and killed by passing motorist after she climbed out of her car late Wednesday, according to Harris County Sheriff’s deputies.
The woman was traveling with her dog in the 20000 block of the Northwest Freeway around 11:45 p.m. when she lost control, crashed into a wall and flipped over.
Just after she managed to free herself from the wreckage, another vehicle came along and struck the car, causing it to spin around. The woman was pinned underneath the car and dragged along the roadway. She died at the scene.
The vehicle that struck her was carrying three adults and two children. They were all transported to a local hospital in stable condition.
