HOUSTON -- Danyra Olvera was indicted Friday on two counts of intoxication manslaughter for a fatal crash back in February.

Two people were killed and another person was injured in the early-morning crash on Feb. 7.

The crash happened on FM 1960 east of Highway 290.

Authorities with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office said a driver, 29, was turning his Volkswagen into a parking lot when an oncoming Chevrolet Camaro sideswiped him. Deputies said the Camaro went on to hit a utility pole.

The 24-year-old woman behind the wheel, Olvera, was critically injured and was sent to the hospital by Life Flight. Her male passenger died at the scene.

The man in the Volkswagen also died.

Both speed and alcohol played a role in the collision, deputies said.
