HOUSTON – A woman died early Sunday morning after her car was rear-ended at the 10100 block of the North Freeway feeder road, just south of West Road, according to the Houston Police Department.
The woman was driving a Honda Civic and was hit by a Nissan Versa at 3:20 a.m. on Sunday, an official with HPD said. The Civic then slammed into a concrete pillar.
The Versa crashed through a chain-link fence and stopped in a parking lot, police said. The driver of the Civic was taken to an area hospital where she was pronounced dead.
The driver of the Versa then called a relative who picked her up and left her car behind in the parking lot, police said. The relative convinced her to return to the scene of the accident.
She was then given a sobriety test and had blood drawn, police said.
No charges have been filed yet.
