LEAGUE CITY, Texas — A 48-year-old woman died Sunday after the boat she was in crashed into a wooded area along Clear Creek, officials said.
The woman, the boat’s 82-year-old driver and a 9-year-old boy were aboard the 23-foot Seadoo boat near Clear Creek Nature Park when the crash happened about 10:30 a.m. The boat’s driver lost control, the boat went up a ramp and crashed 100 to 150 feet into the woods, police said.
Members of the Kemah Volunteer Fire Department’s marine rescue unit were called to assist in a rescue.
The three boat passengers were taken to a boat ramp along FM 270.
Life Flight took the unidentified woman to Hermann Memorial Hospital in Houston where she died.
The boat’s driver and the boy also were taken by air ambulance to the hospital, but their medical conditions were unknown Monday.
The Galveston County Sheriff’s Office and Texas Parks and Wildlife Department also assisted the League City Police Department on the scene.
