BAYTOWN, Texas – A woman was critically injured early Friday when the car she was riding in smashed into a mobile home and a tree, according to Baytown police.
Police said a male driver and female passenger were traveling at a high rate of speed eastbound on Cactus at Tumbleweed around 1 a.m. when their car left the roadway and struck a mobile home parked in a driveway.
The car ran under the front of the mobile home and a metal gooseneck hook ripped the roof off the car, striking the woman. The car continued to travel a bit down the road before slamming into a tree.
The woman was airlifted to Memorial Hermann Hospital in critical condition.
The driver was not hurt.
